David Muñoz López, OMI: Honorary Doctorate

In recognition of his unwavering commitment to the Oblate School of Theology, the global Oblate community, and the Oblate charism, David was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Ministry in Oblate Studies during a private ceremony.
The Kusenberger Chair of Oblate Studies, based at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, was inaugurated in Rome on January 25, 2017, to mark the bicentenary of our foundation. Since then, it has provided academic degrees and certificates in Oblate Studies and has served as a key resource for the global Oblate Charismatic Family.
A Student and Contributor
David Muñoz López was the first to graduate with an MA in Spirituality, specializing in Oblate Studies. His deep love for St. Eugene and the charism of the Oblate family quickly turned him from a student into a collaborator. Not only did he complete the program, but he also contributed to the development of its curriculum, working closely with faculty to refine the content.
After David graduated, he and I worked together to bring the courses to a broader audience. Given the Chair’s mission to support the ongoing education of the global Oblate Charismatic Family, we organized numerous sessions for Oblate missionaries and those in first formation worldwide. We also created educational resources, including the “Eugene 101” video series in English, Spanish, and Italian, and contributed to various publications to further spread the charism…
