Get ready for an extraordinary event! From August 26th to 30th, 2024, the General Committee of OMI-JPIC will hold its annual assembly at the General House in Rome.

This gathering is a valuable opportunity for us to reflect on how we can continue to animate JPIC within the Congregation, particularly in light of the implementation of the 2022 General Chapter’s directives.

As we eagerly anticipate this meeting, we’re inspired by the remarkable progress, dedication, and hard work demonstrated in advancing the principles of Laudato Si’ across each Unit, in response to the Chapter’s mandates on Laudato Si’ and other JPIC concerns in our ministry.

We look forward to sharing the significant updates from our discussions with all the Units! Our evaluations will serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for the entire Oblate Congregation.

Moreover, this assembly offers a wonderful opportunity for the members of the General Service JPIC to spend a week together, exchanging ideas, praying, and exploring ways to implement the Chapter’s directives in the pastoral service of our Oblates in mission.

We are excited to announce that our discussions will focus on the vital topic of “accompaniment of migrants in our pastoral and presence places.” On Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, we will be honored to engage in a conversation with Catalina S. Hinojosa L., administrative consultant of the USG/UISG-JPIC, about the realities facing migrants.

We are also pleased to extend an invitation to all members of our synodal group, “Via Aurelia Pilgrims” in Rome, to join us for this truly inspiring example of a Church walking together.

Your fraternal prayers for the success of this event would be greatly appreciated.
