On July 4, 2024, the Provincial House in Washington, DC, hosted a warm and welcoming event to greet the Central Government of the Congregation.
The DC Local Community, visiting scholastics, and guests came together to celebrate the Council’s visit and enjoy a festive Fourth of July cookout. This gathering also provided a chance for everyone to get acquainted before the Joint Session meetings commenced.
The event began with a friendly social hour, followed by a classic Independence Day meal featuring hotdogs, hamburgers, and plenty of sides. The Provincial, Fr. Ray Cook, extended a heartfelt welcome to the Central Government, making them feel at home in the USA.
Among the attendees were the Superior General Luis Ignacio Rois Alonso, his Vicar Antoni Bochm, Assistants Raymond Mwangala and Henricus Asodo, councilors Jorge Albergati, Eugene Benedict, Jim Brobst, Alberto Gnemmi, and General Treasurer Charles Rensburg. The DC local community members present included Tom Coughlin, Bevil Bramwell, Ray Lebrun, Rocky Grimard, Jim Chambers (who also manned the grill), George Kirwin, Ray Cook, Fernando Valasquez, and Scholastic Brothers Etienne Kabemba Lukusa, Alexander Robles Alfar, and Pablo Henning.
