Fr. Chicho, our Superior General, is in Assisi for the Union of Superior Generals (USG) meeting from May 21-24, 2024.
This special assembly gathers Superior Generals from various religious congregations to address significant issues, share their experiences, and strengthen their shared mission.
Assisi, with its rich history and significance for religious life, is the perfect backdrop for this Assembly. It’s a time to look back on the USG’s journey and thank God for all the blessings along the way. The participants will be able to learn about the origin and evolution of the USG, as well as its importance in the implementation of the Second Vatican Council, through some of the actors of that history.
In Assisi, the Superior Generals will reflect on the relevance of Saint Francis as an instrument of peace in these troubled times, and they will renew their commitment to make peace possible.
One of the highlights will be a session discussing how simplicity and poverty can breathe new life into their consecrated lives. They’ll also explore how they can contribute to the upcoming session of the Synod on Synodality.
