10th Anniversary Sankofa Institute | Women’s Conference
‘Moving from Surviving to Thriving’
Mar 2 | 9:00AM – 3:00PM Central Time | IN-PERSON AND ONLINE OPTIONS AVAILABLE
Description
Zora Neale Hurston described Black women as “mules of the earth.” We acknowledge this reality while daring to envision past it. We seek to understand, press toward, and inhabit a new reality of thriving as those historically relegated to simply getting by. We seek to discover together what has been, what is, and what can be through faith and the fertile ground of the souls of Black Women!
The conference is sponsored by Sankofa Institute for African American Pastoral Leadership.
Presenter
Dr. Donna Coletrane Battle is a spiritual practitioner, soul coach and educator focused on justice as it relates specifically to the intersection of race, gender, and spirituality. Donna is a mother, wife, sister, and friend who also nurtures and coaches leaders, pastors those without a pastor, partners to cultivate healing in relationships, and commits every day to a life of being present, though not always successful! She holds a BA in Public Relations from NC A&T State University, a MDiv from Duke University and a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern University.
