The Superior General of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Fr. Luis Ignacio ROIS ALONSO, OMI, will be visiting the Oblate Province of Notre-Dame-du-Cap in Quebec and Ottawa, Canada, from October 17 to November 1, 2023.

This visit will be an opportunity to meet his confrères and their communities. To welcome the Superior General, the Provincial Council of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate and Saint Paul University are organizing two days filled with meetings and activities to strengthen the relationship between the Oblates and the University community.

The Superior General will be at Saint Paul University on Monday, October 30, and Tuesday, October 31. On Monday, the day will be dedicated to meetings with the deans, groups, and centers of the University. On Tuesday, he will attend the Symposium “175 Years of Higher Education.”

This Symposium will showcase the Oblates of Mary Immaculate’s commitment to Higher Education, notably Saint Paul University and the Catholic intellectual tradition. It will provide a space for reflection and respectful dialogue with First Nations in Canada, in addition to commemorating the 175th anniversary of Saint Paul University by presenting past accomplishments, reflecting on the present, and exploring future prospects.

Our prayers accompany the Superior General, and we express gratitude to the Province of Notre-Dame-du-Cap for their diligent preparations for this visit.
