A Book Fair was held at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in downtown Lowell, MA over the weekend of August 19-20, 2023.  The book fair was dubbed “Buck-a-Book” for books and “Deuce-a-Disc” for music CD’s and DVDs that came from the closed St. Eugene House in Lowell, and collections from various Oblates stored at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Residence, Tewksbury, MA.  Approximately 1,800 books, 850 CD’s and 100 DVDs were triaged, categorized, boxed and displayed on the sidewalk in front of the Shrine.

Shrine patrons were able to peruse the fair before and after weekend masses.  The revenues gained from the sale will benefit the Shrine Gift Shop as supplemental income from the usual lack-luster summer sales.  Assisting with the coordination of the Book Fair are the following Oblates left Br. Lester (Antonio) Zapata, Fr. Gene Tremblay and Br. Richard Coté.
