Communion on the Moon Fifty Years Later: Eucharistic Hospitality Advances?

On Sunday, July 23, 2023, the Sunday closest to the actual date of July 20, 1969, many Christian Churches remember the anniversary of the moon landing by US astronauts.  The capsule’s pilot, Buzz Aldrin, celebrated communion on the surface of the moon.

An article written by Fr. Harry Winter, OMI which appeared in Ecumenical Trends in 2019 has been re-printed on the website of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement (Graymoor) to observe the July 20, 1969 Communion on the Moon.
