Fr. Mike Amesse, OMI, invited me to give a day of reflection to the Oblates ministering at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell, MA. After Mass, I joined Oblates to greet parishioners and pilgrims.

During my visit, I attended the funeral Mass of Fr. Gil Boucher, OMI. Fr. Gil had ministered in many parishes in the Northeast U.S. and was a missionary in French Polynesia several years. As his casket was being carried out, Oblates Luc Bouchard, Gene Tremblay, Don Lozier, Homilist at Mass, and Community Superior John Hanley, look on in prayer.

After Mass, Fr. Mike took me to the airport but his car broke down on the way, so he called a taxi for me. Luckily, I made my flight. Fr. Mike was desperately calling AAA to get a ride home!
