Video: Historic Footage From the 1995 Canonization of St. Eugene de Mazenod

U.S. Oblate Media

A banner with St. Eugene’s image is hoisted over the entrance to St. Peter’s 25 years ago

On December 3, 1995, the Oblate World turned its eyes toward Rome where Bishop Eugene de Mazenod was Canonized by a future Saint, Pope John Paul II. For the occasion, a team of media professionals comprised of Edward J. Murray, David Moore and Will Shaw were sent from the U.S. to cover the historic event and produce a documentary about it.

The seven-minute video is taken from the resulting program, “Harvest of Souls.” Please enjoy the historic images from 25 years ago.
