King’s House – Belleville “Fat Tuesday” 2019

King's House - Belleville, IL

Every year since anyone can remember, King’s House Retreat and Renewal Center in Belleville hosts all the local Oblates, employees, Associates and friends at a “Fat Tuesday” luncheon featuring a buffet full of creole delights. The staff including, Director, Fr. Mark Dean, OMI, Fr. Sal Gonzalez, OMI, Deacon Doug Boyer and Alana Suchman welcomed the guests who all missed the colorful presence of Rich Dahm who happened to be out of town this year.

As usual, the food and fellowship was wonderful providing all with a memorable “Fat Tuesday.” And for some of us, when stepping on the scale tomorrow, a “Fat Wednesday.”

John Vanek (L) of the Missionary Association is greeted by King’s House Director, Fr. Mark Dean, OMI

Four more arrive from MAMI, (L-R) Jennifer Kaemmerer, Karen Fuehne, Patti Herges-Schanz, Bill Undertajlo

More Missionary Association revelers are: (L-back), Dave Morrison, Tim Hall (L. Middle) and Sherri Paule, (L. front) on the right front is Sheila Miller, Mike Hall is busy in the middle and Diana Baranski is in back on the right.

The Shrine’s Inez Smith (L) and Regina Evans appear to be mesmerized by the choices to be made from the buffet table

Perhaps this person hoped to remain incognito, but everyone knows its Barb Prosser from the Esquiline!

A truly mixed group: (L-R) Oblate Associate, Jean Brennan, Sr. Irma Avila and Bette Meyer from the Shrine and Nancy Lichtenberg from the Office of Mission Enrichment

MAMI’s Allen Bisbee sits next to his sister-in-law, Lynn Pace, and across from his wife and Lynn’s twin sister, Lynda Bisbee

Enjoying the food and the sunshine are (L-R) MAMI’s, Afi Jones, Kate Brown, and Sarah Abbott while Lynn Pace stays in the shade

Ordinarily, Rich Dahm of King’s House greets the guests. But since h’e out of town, it was a stand-in this year!
