Fire Destroys Chapel in La Morita

“As I participate in the World Youth Day events in Poland, I was given the sad news that one of our chapels, together with the new classrooms and 11 homes, went up in flames yesterday. The chapel of “San Martin de Porres” is located in the poorest part of our parish, along the railroad tracks. This community worked really hard to build this chapel and the new classrooms. This was going to be the first year that the children of this community were going to have classrooms for their religious education programs. In addition, these 11 families lost everything they owned in the fire. There were no death or serious injures… thank God! Please pray for these families and our parish community.” – Fr.
