Three New Oblate Priests Ordained in San Antonio

Three new Oblate priests were ordained at the Immaculate Conception Chapel at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas before a large crowd of family, friends, well-wishers and Oblates on May 22, 2015. The Most Rev. Michael D. Pfeifer, OMI, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of San Angelo, presided at the celebration with the principal concelebrants being U.S. Provincial, Fr. William M. Antone, OMI, and Mexican Provincial, Fr. Vincente Lopez, OMI.
The new Oblate priests are: Fr. Feliciano Lopez-Ortiz from El Carrizo, Mexico. Fr. Lopez-Ortiz spent his pastoral year at Our Lady of Refuge Parish in Roma, Texas and will now be assigned there. Fr. Lucio Castillo, OMI, from Los Angeles, spent his pastoral year at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Jude’s Shrine in New Orleans, LA. and will now be assigned to Immaculate Conception Parish in Houston, Texas. Fr. Ulises Silva, OMI, spent his pastoral year at San Juan de los Lagos Parish in San Antonio and will now return to his native Province of Mexico for assignment.
Also in the congregation for the celebration was superior of the scholasticate of the Mexico Province, Fr. Benedicto Frias, OMI along with two other Oblates from Mexico and parishioners from the three parishes where the newly ordained had done their pastoral year.
