Oblate Receives Life Achievement Award from National Organization
There are currently some 800 priests from the Philippines serving throughout the United States. The National Association of Filipino Priests-USA (NAFP) is an organization whose mission is: “An association (of Filipino Roman Catholic Priests in the United States of America) that promotes unity, support and total growth among Filipino priests ministering with their cultural gifts in the Church, by serving as a venue for collaboration and forum for effective pastoral leadership.”
At their national meeting held November 4-7 in Orlando, Florida, the NAFP gave their Life-Achievement Award to Bishop Oscar Solis, Auxiliary Bishop of the San Pedro Pastoral Region in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and to Oblate Father Jose’ Arong. Below is the article about Fr. Arong as it appeared in the program for the NAFP Awrds Ceremony.
