On Monday evening, September 17th the third Oblate Retreat for 2012 began at King’s House Retreat & Renewal Center in Belleville, IL. This retreat, guided by Tom Singer, O.M.I., David Munoz, O.M.I. and Geri Furmanek (National Dir. for OMI Mission Enrichment & Oblate Associates), was attended by 46 Oblates from around the U.S.
These retreats (from Monday evening until Friday Noon) focus on “Reflecting, Discerning, and Embracing” the process of Renewing the Province Mission. It is a time for the Oblates to be spiritually supported as they live into God’s will for their personal life as they work to renew the Missionary Oblate presence throughout the Province.
The generous hospitality of Bro. Pat McGee and the King’s House staff was greatly appreciated. The beautifully manicured grounds, delicious food and accommodating staff encouraged us to be attentive to God’s presence and love.
